WHAKAPARA.
On Wednesday evening, the 13 th inst.,, t£ie Whakapara Golf Club iheld a very enjoyable basket social in the local hall, which was prettily decorated with wattle and the club colours. Many tastefully arranged baskets Avere disposed oi under the hanameiof Mr C. Wakelin. A good floor and good music made dancing a treat, and the non-dancers much enjoyed the competitions, <The tihq.nkV of the club were tendered to the public to those whtee assistance'h{y3 made the function such ti success. The enjoyment of the evening was due in no small measure to the Masters of Ceremony (Messrs Le Gallais and Davis). A substantial financial re : suit accrued to the club.
