MORE MEN REQUIRED

GANGS BEYOND MAUNGA-

TUROTO

AUCKLAND, This Day.

The Public Works Department has advised the Repatriation Department that 20 men are required for the North Auckland Trunk railway works beyond Maungaturoto, where gangs are being formed. A further 20 men are required for road clearing and road-formation works at Kaniwhaniwha, 18 miles from Hamilton, 15 for road-widening at Te Miro, seven miles from Cambridge, and 10 for the formation of stop-banks on the Waihou River, five miles from Paeroa.

Last week the Repatriation Department sent 45 men to railway works at Tauranga and at the Main Trunk end of the Stratford railway.
