PURCHASE NEGOTIATIONS

NEW YORK, Aug. 5
The "New York Times'" Washington correspondent learns that the United States Shipping Board announces that a London buyer has offered to purchase* twenty of the wooden vessels constructed towards the end of the war. The prospective buyer has deposited a fund in a bank and now is awaiting acceptance of his offer.
The price of the vessels is three hundred thousand dollars each.—A. and N.Z.
