DEMNED.

In compliance with the request of the Labour Party Mr P. C. Webb has definitely announced himself as a candidate for the Grey seat.
Speaking at the Opera House last night Mr Webb said that he stood as an avowed enemy of the Government, whom he invited to come to the electorate and help to vote him out. He hoped that the election would not be conducted on the win-the-war cry, but as a £est of approval or otherwise of the National, Government's policy regarding the cost of living and parti-
cularly war measures,
