To-morrow the Board w ! ll journey via Tangiteroria to Dargaville, where an inquiry will be conducted on behalf of the Governir.ent regarding a proposal to stop the export of kalr katea (white pine), and to-morro* , night the Board will confer with th'o Dargaville Borough Council on various matters. Beyond the intrinsic research into actual living conditions, the Board's functions extend to an interest in the fostering of New Zealand trade, whether internal, import, or export, and it is therefore within the bounds cf probability that the Board personnel will join the Parliamentary party which is to tour northern districts in January next.
