HANDED OVER TO THE ALLIES
AX ULTIMATUM DELIVERED. (Press Assn. —Reed. 11.30 p.m.) . Australian and X.Z. Cable Association LONDON, October 12. The "Daily Chronicle's" Athens, correspondent says Cabinet receiver; Admiral dv Fournet's ultimatum at mid night demanding the handing over of the fleet, the arsenal in Keepatsino Gulf, the northern railway and also the control of Piraeus and the disarmament of three forts. Government, under protest accepted the ultimatum before the time of expiry at noon. The smaller vessels will be handed over to the Provisional Government a; Salonika and the larger ones will be disarmed. Admiral dv Fournet's Note was received directly after M. Lam. bros' Cabinet liad been sworn in. {After a Cabinet meeting King Constan'tine motored hastily from Tatci and called the principal Ministers to the Palace.| Negotiations were continued until 3 o clock in the morning when a decision to surrender the fleet Was reached and the Allies were formally notified before twelve o'clock.
•During the afternoon the Greek crews of the warships disembarked and the breeches of the guns were removed. French crews were placed Upon the smaller ships and French guards were placed on the Kilkis, Lemnos and Averoff which have been .'eft in Kenatsini Gulf with skeleton crews. The Greek naval men submitted without an incident. The railway was still unoccupied late in the afternoon.
