EXPEDITING THE OUTPUT. PRIVATE ORDERS BARRED. THte LIQUOR FACTOR. (Press ABsn.—Reed. 3 30 p.m.) LONBON, April 17. The Kitchener Combittee is establishing local committees in the important manufacturing centres, with, full power to organise the munitions output. Birmingham firms. have been notified that they must not accept private orders. It is understood that the Government's liquor policy now consists of more drastic control of public houses In the areas chiefly concerned; partial prohibition of spirits, with compensation; and encouragement of light beers. There is no legalisation in respect of wines, except heavier taxation, with discrimination in favour of Australian and French light wines.
