German Right Flank Threatened.
HALF-HEARTED COUNTER-ATTACKS,
ALLIES FIGHT WAIST-DEEP IN WATER

PARIS, Sept. 21. A French army corps under General Mamoury threatens the German right flank.
The hitter's half-hearted counter-attacks failed signally. Many prisoners captured had been living on raAv turnips and potatoes. The speed at Avhich the French -followed the fugitives was terrific. In some places where the enemy had thirty hours' start they were overtaken. . '
When the French entered Crecy-en-Valvis Germans were surprised packing shells. The French exploded five thousand of them. The P'rench advance of the Left is highly important, as General Vouveck's flank is now exposed. It is officially stated that Saxon army is broken up and that General yon Hausen has beeen relieved of his command. The army in iioav being reorganised. The French Government has had no confirmation of the surrender of those Maubenge forts which were not destroyed. The Allied troops at Aisne are fighting Avaist deep in water in\ the flooded trenches. )
From the sound of the cannonading it is evident that the Germans have brought up heavier guns and established a position near the old forts of Conde-sur-Aisne, which are defended by up-to-date artillery, v.
