THE DUBLIN RIOTS
30.000 EMPLOYEES SHORTLY BE LOCKED OUT.
"LARRIKINISM" TO BE PUT DOWN
(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright)
LONDON, Sept. 7
The Dublin employers have decided to lock-out the members of the Transport Union, and the North-western railway authorities, after dismissing 150 men for refusing to handle goods, have cancelled a large section of the goods traffic. Under the present arrangement thirty thousand employees will be locked out in a few days.
The masters disavow opposition to trades unionists but mean to destroy "larrikinism" which is held to be equivalent to syndicalism. The jury's verdict on Byrne, who was killed during the rioting, was that death was due to a fractured skull, but there was no evidence to show how it was caused.
