NO CLUE TO MURDERER

MELBOURNE, Aug. 27.

The police have failed to find any clue respecting the murder of the old man Knight, whose body was found near his hut with the head nearly blown off.

It is suspected that. Knight was murdered for his money. The deceased was possessed of considerable money. He did not believe in banks and kept his hoard m the house. Recently the hut was robbed, and then he declared that he intended to carry his money in his pockets. No money was found on the body or in the hut. A gun was found in the scrub near the dead body.
