CONTINUED TO-DAY

LONDON, Aug. 25

The " Daily Mail " water-plane competition was continued to-day, when Hawker started from Southampton at 5.30 a.m. He passed Dover at. 7.55 at a great height, travelling very fast. Hawker has excellent weather for his flight. He has now protected his eyes and ears, and is enduring the strain well. He flew to Scarborough, 390 miles, in 553 minutes, exclusive of two hours' stoppages at Ramsgate and Yarmouth control stations. Later. Hawker has arrived at Yarmouth. His flying time was 249 minutes. He hopes to reach Aberdeen this evening.
