GERMANY ARMY SENSATION.

ANOTHER REDL TREASON SCANDAL. ("Sydney Sun'"' Service.) BERLIN, Aug. 21. A sensation has been created by the arrest of Captain Stein, of the Third Regiment of Field Artillery, on a charge of treason.

While the regiment was being put through exercises on the manoeuvring ground at Hammerstein yesterday the colonel sent a summons to Stein. The latter scented danger, and fleeing to the local railway station, departed by the first train.

The authorities promptly wired to the next station, and Stein found himself under arrest as soon as the train drew in.

It is alleged that Stein has sold military secrets to more than one foreign Power.

It is considered in army circles that the case is likely to turn out as disastrously for Germany as the recent Redl treason scandal did for Austria.
