A MYTHICAL FORTUNE.
LABOURER'S FRAUDS
(" Sydney Sun " Service.)
LONDON, Aug. 21
It is stated that the story that Tunstall, a Bolton corporation labourer, had been left £200,000 by his father-in-law, a Westralian pearl fisher, is a complete myth. He was
convicted and is now undergoing four years' penal servitude for defrauding farmers.
An application was made to-day that £99 which he was possessed of when arrested should be given to a woman "was convicted witta. him, but was bound over.
The magistrate said that it was morally certain the money formed the proceeds of the frauds. Numerous claims had been made, and a decision was difficult. The application was refused, the magistrate suggesting that the man should be adjudged a bankrupt, after which the money would be properly divided.
