AUCKLAND, Aug. 21
At Westfield on Wednesday beef had a small yarding. Prices were a shade better than last week. Choice pens of extra prime ox brought up to 33/ per 1001b, ordinary prime 28/ to 30/, cow and heifer beef 26/ to 28/.
Veal.—There was a large yarding, which sold at late rates. Heavy runners fetched to £5 3/, choice suckers £2 5/ to £3 3/, others 3/ to 30/.
Mutton. —An average yarding. Prices were on a par with late rates. Extra heavy wethers sold up to 33/6, heavy 28/ to 30/, others 20/ to 26/. Hoggets 18/ to 20/6. Extra heavy ewes 25/ to 29/6, goods 22/ to 26/, others 18/ to 21/.
Pork.—An average yarding, which sold at last week's rates. Heavy choppers sold up to £4 3/, baconers £2 15/ to £3 5/, porkers £2 1/ to £2 10, small 20/ to 29/.
