ENGLISH COAL TRADE MENACE.
ONE MILLION PEOPLE INVOLVED.

LONDON, Feb. 16.
The vast majority of the miners have handed in their notices to cease work on the 29th.
The English Coal Conciliation Board will meet on Monday, and it is hoped that it will effect a temporary settlement.
A general strike would involve ore million miners.
The ironmasters at Cleveland nivl South Durham have given the workmen a fortnight's notice in view of the expected shortage of coal.
