The Changed Personnel.

The following is a list of those members of the last Parliament who do not appear in the new Parliament, either through having been defeated or through not having stood for re-elec-tion:—Messrs J Stallworthy, L. R. Phillipps, C. 11. Poole, G/. Fowlds, F. Lawry, E. H. Taylor, H. J. Greenslade, A. Dillon, C. Hall, R. B. Ross, A. W. Hogg, W. Jennings, D. Dive, J. T. Hogan, W. H. Field, D. McLaren, R. A. Wright, J. P. Luke. J. Graham, J. Duncan, C. A. C. Hardy, T. Y. Duncan, J. F. Arnold and Sir W J. Steward. Of these six (Messrs Phillipps, Lawry, Dillon, Hall, Graham, and Sir W. J. Steward) did not seek re-election. Of the 18 who stood and were defeated, 14 were supporters of the Ward Government, one (Mr J. Duncan) was an Independent, and three were members of the Reform party. Of the six members who did not seek re-election, one was a member of the Reform party, and five were supporters of the Government seats. The sixth seat was captured by ah Independent (Mr Atmore).

The members of the new Parliament who were not members of the old Parliament are:—Messrs R. Coates, A. Harris, J. H .Bradney, T. Payne, J. S. Dickson, T. W. Rhodes, H. A. Young, R. Bollard, H. Campbell G. Hunter, J. H. Escott, ,d. R. Sykes, C K. Wilson, W. A. Veitch, J. Robertson, Dr. A. K. Newman, A. 11. Hindmarsh, W. H. D. Bell, H. Atmore, R. McCallum, W. J. Dickie, F. H. Smith. E. P. Lee, and C. E. Statham. These are distributed amongst the various parties as follow:—Reform party, 15; Labor, 4; Independent, 3; Government, 2.

In the old House the Ward Government commanded 54 votes as against 26 on the Opposition benches—a majority of 28, or more than two to cue.
