STOCK SALES.

MESSRS F. AND W. WAKELIN,

, Messrs F. and W. Wakelin lield their r usual monthly cattle sale at Karao on the 7th inst., and considerably over the advertised number of stock came forward, fully eight hundred head being offered. Ninety-five head of beef,, were yarded, mostly cows, and all sold at auction under good competition. Good young cows and steeris made about 22/- the lOOlbs; aged cows 18/- ~to 20/- per lOOlbs; best cows made up to £7 ss; bullocks to £8 10/-. Dairy cows were not so numerous a-, this sale. Those of a good class madisjrom £6 to £7 10/- each; aged ' 10/- to £5 10/-; young bulls to if 6; three-year-old steers, £5 10/----t& £5 12/-; four-year-old steers, £6; yearling and 18-month steers made £3 5/- to £3 12/6; 2 and 2 1 / £-year ' steers, mixed. £4 5/- to £4 15/-; young store cows, from £3 15/- to £4 5/-. Three hundred and fifty calves were offered, mostly well-bred Shorthorns, and most of them were sold. Good strong steer calves made £2 2/- each; ethers from 32/6 to £2. A small line of fat ewes made 12/-; good lambs, C/ 6; full-znoiit.li ewes, 10/-. We also held the usual monthly sale at Maungakaramea and Hukerenui, and at both these places good yardings were offered and nearly all sold at satisfactory prices.
