LEAD IN NAVAL ARMAMENTS.
BRITISH SUPERIORITY,
NO HOLDING BACK,
(Received April 13," 8.12 a.m.)
LONDON, April 12
The "Times" says that Britain has four ships afloat and two shortly to be launched all of which carry 13 % inch guns. No other Power has any vessel so far advanced, or which can mount heavier than 12-inch guns.
Possibly Krupps' 14-inch gun is a fortress gun.
If found expedient, Britain already has 14-inch guns tested which can be utilised aboard warships; while it is equally possible that a further advance may ultimately be made to 15-inch guns.
There is no indication of a stoppage being likely, and it is at least equally probable that the pendulum may swing the other way.
