PRISONER JUMPS FROM A TRAIN

DARING ESCAPE,

INVERCARGILL, April 12. A prisoner named Joseph Christie, seventeen years of age, who was recently / sentenced by the Supreme Court to a term of imprisonment, jumped from an express train yesterday afternoon when the train was passing Woodlands. He was allowed to go to the lavatory, but instead of doing so he opened the carriage door and jumped out. He landed on his feet and made off. So far there is no news of his recapture.
