A TRYING EXPERIENCE.

TWELVE MONTHS' HARDSHIP,

WELLINGTON, April 12. Mr Bell and family, who have been residing on and off for many years on Sunday Island, .in the Kermadec group, have abandoned the island. The Amokura reports the devastation of Mr Bell's homestead, crops, and plantation by a water-spout as far back as April of last year. Since then the family had been suffering considerable hardships, awaiting a vessel to take them off the island.
