ADVISORY MEETING.

(Own Correspondent.)

A meeting of the Advisory Committee in connection with our special metaling loan was held on The 14th i: ,r -,t., when Mr Costall was in i!ie shair and iWefsrs J. > :. Munro, Wilf.on, Whimp, and E. Tremaine (secretary) were present. The previous minutes were read and confirmed with some deletion. The following figures re quarrying and delivery of metal were submitted by the chairman as tenders accepted: —Purua: Carting by Mr Sands (horsework) 3/8; quarrying 1/6, breaking 1/3, loading 6d (Mr Langridge), total C/ 11, with spreading to be allowed for. Ruatangata: Carting 2/- (by traction engine), quarrying 1/5, breaking 6d, loading hopper 3d (Mr Neil), total 4/8. Spreading at 6d per yard and hopper preparation at 3d per yard, equals 0/0 spread on the road. Messrs James Mackay and Lille >', isen., waited on the committee re our councillor and chairman resigning his present position as a committeeman of the Advisory Committee, but still to be present at such committee meetings as councillor for the riding. Mr Costall agreed to resign as requested, and Mr Mackay duly thanked ihe committee for receiving the deputation and withdrew. Mr MunrQ' proposed that the co Imittee resign as a body. Seconded by Mr Whimp and carried, the voting being three to two. Votes of thanks were duly conf3red upon the chairman and secretary, and the meeting terminated. EUCHRE PARTY. On the 17th inst. a most enjoyable euchre party and dance was held in the public hall, when Mrs Frank Yat?s was successful in winning the lad: 'a tirst prize with 10 games to her credit cut of 12. Mr C. Dyer again won the gentleman's prize, with 11 games. Miss 2* Lord and Mr A. Langridge annexed those coveted prizes the boobies, i-'upper was handed round about 11.30 p.m., and the various prizes awarded to the winners during the interval. ANIMATED PICTURE SHOW. The secretary for the Hall trustees has received a communication re hiring the hall early in March from a company wishing to give an entertainment in the building. The alterations, etc., afford inducement to such companies. SURPRISE PARTY. Our old and respected settler, Mr Lilley, I hear is to be entertained on Monday evening by the visit of a surprise party to his residence, when no doubt Mr Lilley and family will enjoy the evening, though unexpected. CREAM SUPPLY. The cream supply, as I guess is the case elsewhere, is decidedly on the decrease, owing to the continuous dry spell. Our popular manager, Mr Scobie, regrets the state of affairs as much as the suppliers, maintaining Inat our interests are practically his, and that a great deal of the routine work has to be gone through, although the supply of cream be smaller.
