UNSHIPPING GOODS.

CHARGE OF EVADING CUSTOMS

WITHDRAWN.

WELLINGTON, Dec. 9.

In the Magistrate's Court to-day Edwin Zohrab, manager of the Wellington Steam Ferry Company, was feed £25 on a charge of unshipping poods from the tramp steamer Neptune. The charge of evading customs duties was withdrawn. Counsel explained that the defendant did not know when he bought the goods that duty had not been paid. He made no inquiries, assuming that the goods were the property of the man who sold them.
