FOR MILITARY TRAINING.

CIVIL SERVANTS' LEAVE.

According to a circular issued by the Department of Internal Affairs to the heads of the Government Departments, it has been decided, subject to departmental requirements, that leave of absence shall be granted to members of the Government service (other than employees of the Railway Department) when required for service under the Defence Act, 1909, and that such leave shall not be deducted from anneal leave of absence.

In future when any member of the service obtains leave for more than one day to attend a military camp of exercise (statutory holidays excluded) and pay due to him by the Defence Department, other than victualling or forage allowance, is to be paid by the Defence Department to I the Department in which the member of the Government service is employed.

These payments to Departments will be made by way of transfer. The necessary transfer vouchers will be prepared in the various Departments concerned, charged to the defence vote, and credited to the salary vote of the respective Departments.
