The All Blacks scored a victory by the narrow margin of six points to nil against Australia, after one of the best contested games of the tour. During the first spell the visitors were hotly pressed on several occasions. High-class play prevailed throughout, the home team being strengthened by the inclusion of some Queenslanders, Timbury especially proving himself a tower o f strength. New Zealand had the assistance of a little wind in the first spell. P was well into the second spell before the All Blacks got the upper hand. Francis and Patterson worked the ball clown to the Blues goal line, where the ball hung for several minutes, when Wood kicked out and ended the strain.

Speedy passing bouts then took Place on both sides. The All

Blacks were showing fine combination, and from a penalty Stohr's kick narrowly missed.

The Blues then got a move on, and a fine passing rush by Hodgers' Campbell, and Dunbar resulted in the ball dropping over the line.
