MEETINGS, &c.
On Monday evening Mr E. Thompson addressed the electors of Marsden at Opuawhanga. His address was well receivod. At the close he answered a , number of questions, and received a vote of thanks and confidence. The Herald's Parua Bay correspondent writes : — Mr It. Thompson addressed the elector uf this district, in the Public Hall, on Wednesday, the loth instant. There, was a good number present, including several ladies. Mr Davidson occupied the chair, and in a brief manner introduced the speaker His speech, in the uaaiu, was similar to those reported from -other parts of the electorate... At the close of the address Mrs MallabonJ proposed, and Mrs Leo seconded, the resolution :— " That this meeting desires to thank Mr Thompson for his address,
and to express their full confidence in him to rt'prcsi'nfc Mnrsden electorate in the forthcoming Parliament of New Zealand." This was carried with great applause. Mr Thompson having returned thanks, and proposed a vote of thanks to the chairman, the meeting terminated.
