PARELL AND THE TIMES.
' London, August 13. Mr Parnell has served arrestmente upon the Edingburgh agents of the b London Times, in order that he may - be enabled to bring proceedings * againßt the proprietor of that papei r for charges made against him.
c £50,000 damages are claimed. Pars'- nells action against the Times will be t tried in Scotland in November. Profc ceedings are not barred, as they were commenced prior to Royal assent being r given to the Commission Bill. The , Times expresses surprise at the action [ of Parnell, and contends that the pro- , ceedings are brought too late, and l only with the object of evading a '■ statuory enquiry. i Messrs O'Conner and John Redi mond, M.P.'s., commenced seperate actions in England against the pro- > prietor of the Times for charges ' against them. Sir Charles Russel, instructed by Mr Geo. Lewis, the well-known solicitor, will conduct the case of the Irish members before the Commission.
