CONCERNING TEA; PROFESSIONAL TEA TASTING.
In our last issue we quoted the statements of several well-known medical men, to the effect that tea is a good and use- [ ful thing, provided that it is taken in i moderation, and especially that the t article taken into the system is really pure tea. The proper quantity to take, and the right time to take tea must, of course, be left to the discretion of the drinker, and as to the quality, we are pleased to notice that in Auckland we have a tea expert of considerable repute, ' in the person of Mr John Earle, (of the . firm of John Earle & Co., Tea Merchants, . 207, Queen Street, Auckland) regarding •■ whose attainments in tea tasting there \ are many remarkable stories toll, and of 1 whom the "Auckland Star" says: — " There are few men about who under- ; stand teas better than Mr Earle. He has , given the tea business his sole attention [ for years, and may certainly claim to be ' the People's Tea Blender." The "New | Zealand Herald" says: —"Mr John ' Earle has, during the time he has been in , business here, raised himself to the head [ fo his profession as a trusted and successful Tea Expert."
