THE ILLUSTRATED AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
Tins rapid improvement which is taking place in this popular illustrated paper is most remarkable, the New Zealand edition of which for August is to hand, and comprises 40 pages, 27 of which are illustrated by engravings of a very high class. The illustrations represent scenes of New Zealand and Victoria. There is a very spirited full page engraving of a Maori Haka, and the Victorian ■ illustrations comprise many of the , incidents of its early history the Lady ; Nelson, in Hobson Bay, scenes of early ; goldfield life, settling of a new country, settlers' homes, and bushranging episodes. Altogether this publication is i most valuable both as a work of art and i early Australian history. It should be ! in every house.
