The illustrations represent scenes of New Zealand and Victoria. There is a very spirited full page engraving of a Maori Haka, and the Victorian ■ illustrations comprise many of the , incidents of its early history the Lady ; Nelson, in Hobson Bay, scenes of early ; goldfield life, settling of a new country, settlers' homes, and bushranging episodes.
