SERIOUS BUGGY ACCIDENT.

An accident, which might have been attended by very serious consequences, occurred to Mr Carter, of Hikurangi, as he was returning from church, on Sunday, the 18th inst. He was driving from church, with two ladies in his buggy, when two bicyclists approached him, and when within a few yards of the horse's head the two collided, and fell in front of the horse. At this he shied and turning rapidly, before Mr Carter could get control of the horse, he had crossed a ditch by the road side, broken loose from the trap, and was up and over the opposite bank, leaving the buggy in the ditch. All were thrown out by the violence of tlie shock ; but. fortunately, no one seriously hurt. Cf course, both harness and buggy have suffered from the mishap.
