DESCRIPTION OF THE RACE.

.London, October 1,. The secoud race between the yachts. Thistle and Volunteer was sailed today. At the start the weather was foggy, with a fresh breeze, and when half the course had been sailed the Volunteer was leading by 17 minutes, and was gaining rapidly from the Thistle, which appeared to be carrying too much canvas.. On the run home the wind increased to half a gale, and a heavy sea was encountered, which seemed to suit the Thistle, as she improved her .position, but could never overtake the .Volunteer, " which won by 11 minutes.
