WHANGAREI SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A letter was read from.:" the Board oj r Education, in 'Auckland, in reply to s s letter from the School Committee, stating a that there were no funds available for ■ t the erection of a shed at the school. 1 REPORTS. * Beports -were" read from ~Mr W.J. 1 Connell, the head teacher, on the seveial 1 school-teachers now in the school. In 8 each case the report was of a most satisT factory nature. 8 PRIZES. V P With regard to the prizes at the forthcoming examinations, the chairman notified that Mr Robert Thompson, M.H.R., offered a prize of £1 for the best speci- . men of freehand, drawing ; Mr Street, a i prize of £1 for sewing; Mr Broadbent, t 10/ for best attendance; Mr Porter, j 3/6; Mr Harrison, 2/6.
