At Remuera, on Thursday, although rain was falling heavily, cattle of all kinds were fully represented, and late values obtained for them, the only exception being fat calves, which were in short supply and brought high relatives prices. Although supplies continue free, this market is again firmer for ordinary. There is not, however, the usual proportion of difference in price between fair ordinary and superior ordinary, owing to the fact that at this season of the year the quality of all ordinary gums is very good. East Coast remains comparatively steady. Supplies for the last month about 530 tons. We quote fair ordinary 47/, superior ordinary 48/, and East Coast 58/ to 62/, according to quality. Business is decidedly improving ; it is impossible to Bay from what cause, but the fact is undeniable, the large payments being made for gum is doubtless helping the demand for supplies. , Oatmeal selling freely.
