THE IRISH QUESTION.

London, March. 18. In his speech at the dinner of the Liberal Club, Mr Gladstone dealt especially with tne division of the Liberal party on the Irish question. He said that in the present unsettled state of affairs any important legislation in the interests of Ireland was impossible. The demand for local government was quite reasonable. Sir E. Clarke, Solicitor-General, BpeaMng of a meeting said the proposals of the Government were adequate to meet the necessities of Ireland.
