BRANCH FORMED AT TE KTTITI

Mr. Langstoue reports: "I might Kay thjat during t&e Parliamentary Tour in the (Waitomo district, I met Mr. Trimcar in Te Kuiti and arranged with him tor the making known of days and dates that I should be In certain places, of wh'ch programme I gave Mr. Trimear* a fortnight's notice so that the meetings, should be well icidyertised, but somehow this arrangement misfired and when I arrived i n Te KuHi on the 29tii ult. to carry out the outlined programme, J tound that it was only on that day that it was made known {.hat I was to speak tlveire that night. Tho weather was almost inclement, in fact abominable. About 50 people attended the meeting, including Mr. Rolleston, M.P., and Judging by street conversation, after the meeting, the effect was very good, so much so that I was tasked to stay over Sunday, 3rd inst. and address another meeting in tho afternoon, with a view to getting a Branch o? the Party going right away. Jffee'.ing at Oi-oroVaug* On tlio 30th alt. I visited Olon, hango. This meeting was unknown as the previous one was an J only about twenty people turned up. Mr. Closey in whos. G hall we held the. meeting, kindly donated tho ball free, of charge. From Oto-rohaiigo I went to HanKJttiki, tout on account oS wea- J tlier condit-'ons and shor- : : notice only thre e people turned out. so we wend-| ■ed our way home to tho Boarding-? house without any meeting, j At Pio Fio I On June 1 I proceeded per motor: Sims to Pio Pio, where a small, but enthusiastic noting was held. | Several of the farmers present acclaimed that our Land Policy was .just what they wanted. When our j i/md Policy is explained to the; farmers they are all in accord with! the principles enunciated. j flood 'Stari at Te Ivult? J On June 2 I returned to T. e Kuifct and held a meeting on Sunday afternoon. Juno 3, when there was a eoojJ attendance of workers prepe-ut. After my address It was decided to put into effect the formation of a Branch, on the spot, which was duly done. Mr. George Rae, an old comrade, lias accepted the chairmanship, pro tern, njKi Mr. Dave Spring, a comrade Of nyany years skiiuling, has accepted Uie position of secretary, pro tern. I happened to have some membership j tickets wH-h mo and 31 members paid in their 2/6 and joined up right away, a good healthy start. I believe that To Kuiti w-11 grow into one of the most progressive and prosperous Branches in New Zealand. They have plenty of good material there. It y;a3 quite a pleasure, during the discussions which" follov ed the forming: of the Branch, to hear so many Comrades get up and address the meeting s o fluently and earnestly. I look j forward, with great hope?, to Te Kuitf producing some first class speakers for the Labour's Cause.
