LETTER FROM MAKOGAI
The Honorary Trustees for the Leper Fund, Dr T. Fletcher Telford and Mr P. J. Twomey have just received the following letter from the Medical Superintendent at Makogai:—
“I have been asked by the patients at Makogai to thank you and your co-workers for the Christmas gifts which arrived here on the 24th December, 1937. “We wish to express our deep gratitude to the donors for their generosity, which seems not only to be neverfailing but increasingly greater each year. “All the patients have had a most enjoyable Christmas and New Year thanks to the extras with which we have been able to supply to them.”
The boss related one of his pet jokes to his office staff,) all of whom laughed uproariously—except Jones, “You don’t find my little joke very amusing, Mr Jones?’ 1 asked the boss ominously, “1 don’t have to—l’m leaving to-morow,” came thg reply.
