“June” the Patriotic Doll Makes Her Bow
Attracting much friendly interest in one of the windows at Messrs. Collinson and Cunningh airy’s store is “ June," a lovely doll which is destined to gladden the heart of some fortunate little girl. 11 June * 7 is hoping to make a record contribution towards the fund 3 of the patriotic shop when wives of the city councillors and heads of departments headed by the Mayoress (Mrs. A. E. Hansford) are in charge from Monday next for the final fortnight of the shop's activities. “June 77 has been named as a compliment to Miss June Hankins, whose clever fingers have fashioned the dainty clothes in which the doll is dressed. In her sweet Alice blue gown of organdie with spraj-s of coloured hand-embroidery, the waist-line threaded with ribbon sash and the skirt edged with Valenciennes lace, "June 77 is an arresting sight. A charming little poke bonnet edged with fine tatting frames her bonny face, and she has white kid shoes and handknitted silk socks. For the benefit of those not in the know, all her clothes
‘ 1 come off, 7 7 which is the pride of most doll and these include a knitted singlet, pretty panties and two petticoats, one of fine lawn and the other of whito organdie edged with lace. In certainty of generous public support "June 77 ieaves it to you.
