Manawatu Heads
The local branch of the Labour Party is still holding its euchre parties in privates homes. On Wednesday, November 14, 26 players enjoyed a very pleasant evening at Mrs. Shortt’s in Linklater Avenue. Mr. Lash won the men's first prize, Mr. Ilamer (a visitor) the second, and Mrs. Pratt the consolation. Mrs. A. G. Thomas won the women's first prize and Mrs. Anderson the second after they had played off. The consolation prize was won by Mrs. Shortt.
On Wednesday, November 21, there was a good attendance at Mrs. Silva’s in Rooro Street. Mr. Lash w r on the men's first prize, Mr. Anderson the second, and Mrs. Silva's daughter the consolation. Mrs. Campion won the women's first prize, Mrs. Graham the second and Mrs. Anderson the consolation.
Mrs. M. Bowater, of Sanson, and Mrs. Spring, of Foxton, have been staying with Mrs. L. Bowater in Seabury Avenue.
Mrs. A. Eteveneaux and baby, of Beach Road, are paying a visit to Masterton, Mrs. Eteveneaux 7 s home town. Work is going on rapidly at both the skating rink and tennis courts.
