Junior Labour Party
To celebrate the Labour Government’s ten years of office, the local Junior Labour Party on Monday night last, entertained parents and friends by way of a social and dance, about 300 being present. Mr. G. Whiting acted as M.C. Old-time and modern dances were featured with an intermittent dance for elders only. Items were given between dances by juniors. Christensen addressed the gathering, giving a brief history of the Labour movement and urged the junior , members to emulate their elders and become worthy of a great movement. (After the programme of arrangements was announced for this weekend trip to Pokako, where the junior Labour party will be the guests of the Pokako timber mill employees, a most enjoyable evening was brought to a close.
