Cricket Season Opens in Feilding

INTEREST OF BOYS BEING CULTIVATED The cricket season in Feilding opened on Saturday in threatening weather conditions but rain hold off to enable play to proceed with the sky overcast. Proceedings commenced in the morning when over 70 boys took part in the primary schools’ games at Ivowhai Park under the direction of members of the management committee of the Feilding Cricket Association. The attendance was excellent and gave every promise of winning the support of the boys for this very pleasant summer pastime. The boys were placed into teams and given an introduction to the idea of the game and the morning.proved most profitable as well as enjoyable. The Bunnythorpe School boys attended in force and the experience suggested that there will be strong support for this commendable venture. Two senoir games were played, Feilding Old Boys travelling to Colyton to play the home team while Feilding played Kimbolton at Feilding. Details of the games are as follows:
