Many Jews Killed in Tripolitanian Outburst

CAIRO, Nov. 8. More than 100 Jews have been killed in the Tripolitania rioting, states a British communique. British troops on several occasions have been forced to open fire. The situation in Tripoli city and outskirts is now quiet, hut rioting is reported from the provinces. A communique explaining the high deathroll said it was the result of a particularly brutal Arah assault on the Jewish quarters at Zanzur where Jewish houses and synagogues were set on fire. The total number of rioters arrested is now 650.

Squads of Palestine police with Bren guns and armoured cars stood by when 789 Jewish refugees from more than a dozen European countries landed from the liner Princess Kathleen at Haifa, but the disembarkation was carried out without disturbance.
