The sixteenth annual conference of the New Zealand Dairy Science Association has been held at Massey College this week. The conference was opened by the president, Prof. W. Riddet, whj remarked that they were meeting under much happier conditions than they did at the last conference in 1943, the conference planned for last year having to be abandoned because of transport difficulties. The election of officers at the annual meeting held, resulted as follows; president, Prof. W. Riddet; vice-presi-dent, Mr. R. L. Andrew; secretarytreasurer, Dr. R. M. Dolbv; committee, Dr. G. M. Moir, Dr. H. R. Whitehead, Mr. G. J. Hunter, Mr. W. 11. Udy. A resolution of sympathy with tho vice-president, Mr. R. L. Andrew, in the death of his sister was passed. Tho members also stood in silence as a mark of respect to two member? who had passed away, Mr. E. Bqjitson and Capt. B. W. Thomas, the latter having been killed in action in Italy.
Cpl. F. W. Hilton, of Auckland, who has recently returned to New Zealand after having been a prisoner-of-war for over four years, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. S. Mills, of Main Street.
