Rugby Football

To-day will be a gala day for Mangatainoka, where the finals for the Cowan Cups will be played in accordance with the provisions made by the donor, tho late Mr. Henry Cowan, who was such a wonderful supporter of Mangatainoka club football and Bush football as a whole.

At 1.30 p.m., Woodville will play Athletic A for the final of both the Cowan Cup and the Kelly Cup in the Third Grade competition. The referee appointed is Mr. J. Davies. At 2.45 p.m., the Senior Cowan Cup final will be played between Mangatainoka and the fast and much improved Eketahuna fifteen. The referee appointed is Mr. B. Hutcheon, of Woodville.

The Mangatainoka team is in great condition and both games should see some excellent rugby played.

At the conclusion of the matches, the president of the Bush Rugby Union, Mr. E. J. Smith, will present the cups to the winning teams.

Advice has been received by the Bush Rugby Union from the Orou-i Sub-Union that the junior representative match to be played between their respective teams at Woodville on August 18, is satisfactory to them and arrangements are being proceeded with for this definite fixture.
