Mrs. Cobcroft, of Petone, is visiting Mrs. N. E. Parry, of Ballance. Mrs. S. S. Powell and family, of Wanganui, are spending a few days in Pahiatua. Mr. J. Cooper, of the staff of the local Post Office, has resumed duty after his annual leave. Mr. H. P. Melody, of New Plymouth, has joined the literary staff of the Pahiatua Herald. Mr. K. J. Hoyoake M.P., has been visiting Pahiatua in connection with electorate matters. Major M. Harvey, of Palmerston North, was the guest speaker at the weekly meeting of the Pahiatua Rotary Club held last Monday evening and his talk on soldiers’ welfare work carried out by the New Zealand Forces’ oiub in Cairo was enjoyed by rotarians present.
