Victory Bond Wagon In Feilding To-morrow

Feilding’s aim for the visit of the Victory bond wagon to-morrow is the selling of £2OOO worth of Victory bonds. This should not be above the resources of citizens and settlers and it is hoped that every possible support will be accorded the venture. There will be two stalls for the sale of Victory bonds in denominations of £1 and £lO each, while other sellers will be active throughout the proceedings. The Victory bond wagon will take part in a parade to be headed by the Ohakea Air Force Station Band. The parade will proceed from the direction of Kowhai Park to Manchester Square where the bond wagon will halt. Military equipment in the way of a tank, Bren gun carriers and some guns will take part in the parade and the presence of these machines of war should arouse considerable public interest. After all the purpose of the visit ol the bond w r agou and its entertainers after a tour of the extreme north of the North Island, is to secure the sale of Victory bonds and it is to be hoped that everyone will make certain of investing at least £1 and so become the possessor of script acknowledging participation in this great Victory Loan. Proceedings will commence at 1.30 •p.m. and all shops are requested by the Mayor to observe a brief holiday for one hour to enable everyone to take part. The town will be beflagged for the occasion and traffic through Kimbalton Road will be blocked during the proceedings. Feilding has the chance to-morrow to boost the sale of Victory bonds and the day should be set aside for that purpose. There is still a long way to go towards the realisation of the district’s quota before' October 4 but the Victory Loan Committee is confident that citizens and settlers will throw in their weight and in doing so look upon the act as a very persona! duty not only to themselves but to those who are paving the way for victory overseas.
