Mt. Biggs

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The children of the Mt. Biggs School recently held their annual plain and fancy dress dance. Music was supplied by Mrs. P. Simpson, who had also ably assisted with the training of the children. A large number of relatives and friends gathered at the new home of Mr. and Mrs. C. Lobb. Cards, singing and games were indulged in. Despite the inclement weather, there was a good attendance of members of the Blue Bird Club at the monthly meeting held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Lobb, Te Rakehou Road. A talk on “Tasmania” was delivered by the Rev. Blight, of Feilding. Competitions and music helped to pass the time away. Supper was served by the hostess, assisted by Mesdames A. and C. Lobb. Mrs. H. M. McKay is well enough to be able to return to her home after a period spent in a private hospital in Palmerston North. Misses Melva and Shirley Gardner have been spending the school vacation visiting Wellington. Miss June Thomas, Lytton Street, Feilding, has been visiting Miss Carya Reia. Warrant-Officer and Mrs. D. G. MinginS have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Reid. Miss Esme McKay is paying a brief visit to her home, S&nson Road. Mrs. C. A. Masters is spending a holiday in Stratford. Winners at recent card evenings were Mesdames Boness and Thomas and Messrs Boness and McLean.
