Manawatu Electorate

There has been no change in the figures credited to the three candidates in the Manawatu electorate and yesterday, the Returning Officer (Mr. F. S. Collier) stated that ho estimated that there would be something approaching 1000 postal and absentee votes along with soldiers* votes (other than the overseas forces) to be dealt with. It is not expected that the Returning Officer will be in a position to deal witn these until late in this week and it may be next week before the final figures are announced. The servicemen’s votes on the licensing question have not yet been credited to the published figures and the announced totals are subject to additions including those represented by postal and absent votes.
