Squadron-Leader C. N. Rabone, commanding officer, R.N.Z.A.F., Linton, has received notice of promotion to the rank of wing-commander. Cabled advice has been received by Mr. and Mrs. J. Dilks, of Lombard Street, that their son, Sergeant Malcolm Dilks, serving with the R.N.Z,A.F. in Canada, has received his commission as pilot-officer. A motion of sympathy with Mr. A. W. Just, a former chairman, was passed at the annual meeting of the Manawatu Produce Growers’ Association, and it was decided to write a letter to Mr. Just wishing him an early restoration to health.
Pilot-Officer Donald McCaskill, who was reported missing on air operations in May and is now officially listed as missing, believed killed,- is the son of Lieut.-Colouel G. M. McCaskill and Mrs. McCaskill (Miss Gwen Gibbs), who are well-known iu Palmerston North. PilotOfficer McCaskill, who is 19 years of age, was educated at the Hokowhitu ochool and Nelson College.
