Stimson Warns U.S. of Heavier Casualties to Come
WASHINGTON, June 24.
“While our casualties are heavy it is certain that in practically all the theatres of war in which we are engaged, the enemy’s losses are much greater, 77 said the Secretary for War, Mr. Henry Stimson. “Future military operations are likely to involve much greater numbers ot our troops. Correspondingly heaviei casualties should be expected.” Mr. Stimson said reports indicated that Germany was moving huge forces into France and Italy in anticipation ot invasion. Ten to 12 German divisions had moved into France and several others into Italy.
