Pacific Not to be An American Lake
Received Tuesday, ll.io p.m. WASHINGTON, Mar. 9. Mr. Sumner Welles told a press conference that America does not desire to transform the Pacific into an American lake. Rather should she make it a peaceful lake equally safe for all Powers’ interests. American policy was to assure complete security after the war. He added that Japan’s unconditional surrender and complete disarmament should make the Pacific safe.
