All Saints Parish Magazine reports that Miss Jean Gaustad is at present in hospital, having undergone an operation. Miss Gaustad is one of the foremost workers in the parish and her many friends will wish her a speedy recovery. As a preliminary to the gala day held by the Parents’ Association of the Palmerston North Boys’ High School on Saturday, Mesdames J. Davidson and Nichols conducted a most successful jumble nale some days ago, thereby aiding the funds by the gratifying amount of £l4. Mrs. Batt, of Halcombe, has been appointed secretary of the housekeeping section of the Women’s Division activities in the central provincial area, in the place of Mrs. W. F. Field, who found it necessary to resign on account of her indisposition.
